West End Sunrises

Sunrise from the Balcony

Beautiful sunrise earlier in the week.

Fog at Daybreak

The next day the fog rolled in, shrouding the mountains and making for another great Vancouver sunrise.

I discovered this fascinating shop in Vancouver’s Chinatown while doing Christmas shopping with my girlfriend. Next time I’m redecorating my place, I will definitely be going back to get the Om light and a sacred Buddha.

Inukshuk Dawn

Dawn breaks in the skies above the Inukshuk on the English Bay coastline.

Engagement Rings along English Bay

The Engagement Rings return to English Bay for the 2010 Olympics. The artist Dennis Oppenheimer also created The Device To Root Out Evil, an upside-down church that proved too controversial for a park in Coal Harbour (unfortunately).

The Vancouver skyline’s little towers dwarfed by the Coast Mountains at sunset.

Vancouver After The Sunset

The jaw-dropping view from Queen Elizabeth Park, the highest lookout in the city of Vancouver at 501 feet above sea-level.

Mount Baker at Sunset

Clouds hanging atop Mount Baker’s volcanic dome.

My Dad was in town last week for a visit. He loves bird watching so I took him to the Reifel Bird Sanctuary in the Ladner area. When we were walking on the coastal dikes these Sandhill Pipers walked about 300 feet across a shallow lagoon and come right up to us!
